Ben Sledge

I am a seasoned journalist, with nearly a decade of experience focusing on predominantly (but not exclusively) video games and technology. While my area of expertise involves interview-led features and original reporting, I'm not shy of penning an opinion-based op-ed or critically informed review.

I've used my considerable knowledge of the industry in consultancy roles, providing mock review services as well as one-to-one advice to major investors.

I'm currently looking to expand my narrative design portfolio, having written several short games for myself. A creative and dedicated writer, I would love nothing more than contributing to your project as a writer and/or narrative designer. 

As a recent inductee into the 30-something club, I should probably change my online bio to something like: "Gamer. Writer. Father. Love Liverpool, hate bigotry. YNWA." but I'm not mentally prepared to take that step just yet.

That said, I appreciate the brevity of the Middle-Aged Bloke Bio and it does a good job of filling a generic 'About Me' section on a website. What else can I say, I'm a middle-aged man with a beard? You've seen my type before. Does a mullet change anything for you? No. Shame. I'm thinking of dying it pink.

Other than writing for and about games, I spend most of my time with my young children - they've recently taken to bathtime D&D sessions like Kuo-toa to water. 

Other than that, I enjoy painting, exploring, and watching Mo Salah score goals.
